The basic idea for WetPets sprung from Sylvia Ringard's mind. She wanted to create a way for swim armbands to be more comfortable for children but also more attractive and helpful for children and parents alike. Her very own experiences with three water-loving and lively sons developed the demand in her - for just such a product. Being a translator, sewing had never been an important part of her life. Working out the very first prototypes by herself was a painstaking effort and the results did not satisfy her expectations as envisioned. Giving up was far from her mind. On the contrary - somebody had to help.

Was it pure coincidence or was it fate that arranged a meeting between Sylvia Ringard and Isolde Lehofer?

Isolde Lehofer, an experienced costume designer, has worked for many opera houses in Germany. Being a trained fashion designer as well, she loves to work out creative designs and patterns with fabrics of all kinds. Designing a new sewing pattern for WetPets turned out to become a completely new challenge for her. This pattern was to fulfill a number of different criteria: not only should WetPets transform regular swim armbands into fashionable accessories while keeping the children with their swim armbands as safe as ever, they should also be easy for parents to handle and yet uncomplicated to produce. The design of this sewing pattern became a matter dear to her heart.

Acording to her motto 'Geht nicht, gibt's nicht.' (Never accept "This can't  work") she developed the current sewing pattern for WetPets, that has not only convinced many parents until now, but also the jury of the Innovation Award at the international trade show Kind + Jugend in Cologne in 2009.

This success pleases us tremendously and motivates us to work on further improving and optimizing WetPets.

Together, Sylvia Ringard and Isolde Lehofer  founded their company, WetPets GmbH, on February 10, 2010. And together they want to create WetPets and WetPets swimwear. These products are meant to have only advantages for children and parents alike, as they are fun and make life easier.

WetPets products are made for parents who love the exceptional and want the best for their children in all phases of their childrens' lives.
